February 2009

Despite recession, airline reports record growth

ImagineAir saw its number of flights rise 117.6 percent in 2008, boosted by 161 percent growth in bookings compared to 2007. The Lawrenceville-based carrier also says it increased its sales by 90 percent last year.

Its expansion plans for 2009 include adding more aircraft, staff, routes and airports to its flight schedule. To date the air taxi service has flown 600 unique routes to and from over 200 airports in the Southeast.

"We attribute our growth to the lack of dependable and efficient regional commercial routes," says Ben Hamilton, president of ImagineAir. "Most of our customers are using ImagineAir to replace a 2-7 hour drive each way, especially when two people are traveling. Our air taxi service fills the large price gap between the airlines and traditional air charter."
